We went to church.
I taught Sharing Time on "The Holy Ghost is a Member of the Godhead." My subbing skills keep coming in handy - I'm so glad!
I played for a baptism after church - an eight-year-old boy. Cute kid.
Then we came home and helped set for dinner. We're on the kitchen crew this week, so twice a day we mop and sweep and set out the food and put it away again and clean everybody's dishes.
Also, we dished up ice cream. We only get dessert on Sundays. It was a Cornish Caramel ice cream. Very good. I got a picture of it in the carton before we scooped it all up.
It's a bit foreshortened - the container was as long as a bread pan and a half, and lots deeper.
Cleaning up was rather epic though.
This is our dumbwaiter. The dish sanitizer, kitchen and food are all a level down. So half the kitchen crew mans the sownstairs, getting the food ready and sending it up and sanitizing the dishes. The other half (my half) is in the servery. We wash the dishes, send them down to be sanitized, put away the sanitized ones sent back up, set out the food, and art the tables.
The dumbwaiter is pivotal in all these operations.
So last night there was a prank war. Every time the dumbwaiter came up or went down, people kept sticking random things in it, trying to one-up the other half. Finally we sent my boot down in an attempt to outdo the other team. They took a video of throwing it in the trash and sent it to me through Facebook, and I had to go down to find it.
Fortunately, I had a sympathizer in the enemy camp. Miriam kept an eye on the hostage and returned it to me safely.
What, you thought we were adults? Be here did you get that idea?
Well, that's about it!
