Day Nineteen from Miriam - Roman Baths

I was sad to say goodbye to my own hotel room in Bath.  343 was glorious.

We explored Bath a little.

We visited the Roman baths!

Yummy green water...

Cool head that used to be above the baths.  There are a number of theories, but no one knows exactly whom this was supposed to be.

Oh, this was the hairstyle of the time.  Umm...

The skeleton of a Roman.  It appears he was a Christian!

Golden goddess.

People would engrave messages to throw in the springs to send to the goddess of the baths.  Usually wishing curses on the person who stole their clothes while they were bathing...

The lost art of the safety pin...

Pretty brooch.

MONEYMONEYMONEY.

Lots of gems found in the drains.  Sad day.

Sauna bath with hot stones.

They look like an army of little hattifatteners.

More sauna hattifatteners.

We got to try some of the (PURIFIED) water.  It tasted... nope.  Not yummy.  Not delicious.  Nope.

Even the telephone booths try to be bland and proper here.

A look around:

Oooooooh food window shopping!

FUDGE HAPPENED.  FRESH AND GOOEY.  MMMMMMM!

Also, the ice cream was BOMB.

Ooh, first king of England crowned here!  So cool!

Bye, Bath.  If this were a Jane Austen novel, I would now be a cultured lady.
