Day Eighteen from Miriam - Tintagel and Bath

We went to Tintagel Castle and Bath!

The day started out with me accidentally stumbling on the coach driver urinating behind the coach.  There will be no pictures, for obvious reasons.

But on to the castle!

You will see lots of pictures of ruins and scenery and probably a million pictures of the same gorgeous bay.

Tintagel Castle is on a cliff.

With lots of stairs.

Vandalism from 1815.  Even the graffiti is old here!

We saw a seal in this bay!

Melissa dragged herself up all those stairs on crutches!

I took a little side path and found... GOATS!

That little black speck is our friend the seal.  She came back!

I shall call her Hermione.  And she shall be mine.  And she shall be my seal.

I climbed this wall to see out the window.  It was an effort.  Glad no one was waiting at the top to put an arrow in my eye!

Here's a look around:

I went down to Merlin's Cave.

So magical!!!!

Sorry the picture isn't the best.  A guy came in and offered to take my picture for me, but I was alone with him in a dark cave with no one around for quite a distance, so I decided it was time to move on.

After wandering for ages without seeing anyone, I found the village and found everyone at a cafe.

It was time for scones and clotted cream!

At our table, Anna and I met two ladies from the area and had a lovely discussion with them about our responsibilities as stewards of the earth.  They also instructed us on the proper way to put jam and clotted cream on a scone (they were on the cream first side of the debate).

Mmmmmmmmm!

Then, we went to BATH!!!!

Here is our first glimpse of the checkered lawns.

Thing number one you should know about Bath is that it all looks the same.

That is intentional.

Try not to get bored.

Oh, this was funny.  Toilet paper for teeny tiny elves.

The funny thing about the stores is that they're in these ancient buildings that are all the same color of bland stone, yet they try to dress it up modernly inside.

Dinner.  That Irish flag thing is vegetable terrine.  It was... um... yep.

The fish and vegetables were excellent!

That evening, we took a stroll around Bath.

The circus is cool.

Here's my attempt at an up-and-down panoramic shot of the standard levels in a Bath residence.

Oh hey, this was Nicolas Cage's house.  No. 16.

Here's a look around:

Dusk began to fall.

Oh hey, Burton Street.

Here's a look around at night:

We found a nesting swan under the bridge!!

OK.  Best part of the day.

*drumroll, please*

My very own king-size bed.

For the first time in my life.

Also, my very own hotel room.

Also for the first time in my life.

In the Hilton.  In Bath.  In England.  Nbd.

Here's how excited I was:
