After classes today, we took the tube to Westminster.
On the tube, we saw this gem:
Oh, Vegas. You sly dog. This would be terrible if it weren't so incredibly true!
Then we walked out of the tube station... and saw THIS:
I cried.
Melissa took pictures of me post-cry.
Clearly, we were so excited!
Then, we found this lovely thing called St. Margaret's Church, which had a large, round window dedicated to King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Very beautiful!
Edit: So it turns out this is actually the back of Westminster Abbey... strike for Melissa and Miriam always coming up to important things from the wrong side...
And then, because I was obsessed with Big Ben, I took this quintessential British pic.
And more selfies happened.
And then another shot of the clock. We got to hear it strike!
Then we saw various memorials and statues. This one was in a particularly gorgeous setting.
Then we found Piccadilly Circus and an iconic red phone booth!
Later in the day, we went to Ben's Cookies and I got a dark chocolate and ginger cookie. It was excellent!
Then we went exploring and found a pretty church and a quaint little spot called Cafe Concerto.
They have a classy name, but I could make a classier wedding cake any day...
The rest of the day was spent planning more adventures!
